I recently purchased a Blokees Doctor Strange figurine and I’d like to talk about it today!

Blokees Doctor Strange

My Blokees Doctor Strange figure.

What are Blokees?

People use the word Blokees in different ways. First, Blokees is a company that produces collectible plastic model figurines. These figurines have the Blokees brand and are referred to as Blokees themselves. At the time of this writing, the most popular Blokees are the Transformers line. But Blokees has been exploring other licenses, coming up with other series like Ultraman and Pokemon. Check out the official Blokees website for more information about them.

Last 2024, Blokees released the Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 02 line of figurines. The Blokees Doctor Strange figurine that I’ll be reviewing today is part of the Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 02 line. Note that Marvel Blokees are blind boxes – you don’t know what figurine you’ll get until you open it.

Blokees Marvel General Stuff

The Blokees Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 02 figurines are very similar to each other. Most of the figurines use the same parts for the chest and torso internals, arms, and legs. So, what can be said about a specific figure in terms of assembly and articulation also applies to other figurines in the same line. A Blokees Marvel figure comes disassembled inside a sealed opaque package. All the pieces are already cut and either colored or pre-painted. Even decals are already attached, so all you need to do is put the pieces together. What’s new in Series 02 are the thigh parts. Unlike Series 01, Series 02 figurines now have an additional joint above the knee which allows for better leg articulation. This joint also allows for separate kneecaps, so the knees are no longer built into the boots of the figurines.

Having fun with my Marvel Blokees figurines.

The new thigh parts also gave me the most difficulty in assembling these Marvel Blokees figures. I had trouble figuring out an easy way to connect them until my last Series 02 figurine. Aside from this, anyone used to Blokees figures should find assembly to be an easy task. There isn’t a need to attach any decals or stickers since they already come attached to the parts. With the amount of Blokees experience under my belt, assembling the rest of the figure parts was very easy. One minor issue that I have is that it’s quite easy for a part to get dislodged, especially when posing them. But these figurines are meant for display and not for any rough play. Any part that’s dislodged during posing or handling can easily be put back again.

These Marvel Blokees figures also have decent articulation, which I didn’t expect for a small figurine that requires assembly. There are hinge joints for the knees and elbows, and ball-and-socket joints for the shoulders, wrists, hips, and ankles. The neck piece allows for the head to have some rotation. When assembled, these Marvel Blokees figures are definitely poseable.

Appearance and Details

I don’t expect one-to-one accuracy with the reference material, but I still expect these figurines to be close to what they are representing. Doctor Strange didn’t really have major changes to his costumes across the films that he appeared in, so I think Blokees Doctor Strange was based on his appearance in the first Doctor Strange movie.

Blokees Doctor Strange is the first Marvel Blokees figure with a fully exposed human head and I’m happy to say that I like how his face was depicted here. We can’t really expect the likeness of Benedict Cumberbatch, now can we? This figurine had the elements of Doctor Strange’s head that I expected, especially his facial hair and the gray hairs near the ears.

Blokees Doctor Strange upper

Upper body of Doctor Strange.

Blokees Doctor Strange has the Eye of Agamotto in the middle of his chest. His chest and upper sleeves are in different colors, representing the multi-layered robes of the original costume. The chest has the folds of the robe molded as contours. The torso continues these folds and patterns, but through decals. He’s also got a belt which isn’t as thick as what the source has but it’s got the circular attachment as well.

Blokees Doctor Strange side view

Right side of the Doctor Strange figure.

Similar to Blokees Star-Lord, Blokees Doctor Strange also has forearm attachments that are the same size as the wrist. This makes the figure look a lot closer to the source compared to the other figurines in Infinity Saga Series 01 and 02. There are decals representing leather straps on the forearms but it actually doesn’t work for me because they don’t go all the way around. Doctor Strange has generic Blokees hands which works because his character isn’t known for punching in fights.

Blokees Doctor Strange lower body

Lower body of Doctor Strange.

The color of the hips and waist of Blokees Doctor Strange matches the secondary color of his robes. His boots made the figure hard to place because they’re brown-colored but most pictures of Doctor Strange that I saw had dark leather boots. They’ve got blue straps in front, which also doesn’t wrap around the back like the forearm attachments. The new knee joints work great with this figurine because they’ll allow you to put Doctor Strange in that levitating seated pose that he’s famous for.

Doctor Strange cape

Doctor Strange’s cape

As expected, Blokees Doctor Strange comes with a cape. Unlike Blokees Thor, this cape only goes down as far as Doctor Strange’s knees. This is a good thing because it stays out of the way of poses and also doesn’t take up much storage or display space. The cape is plain red underneath and at the back. Without the cape, the back of Doctor Strange is quite plain and you’ll see that his Eye of Agamotto necklace doesn’t go all the way around.

Shield of the Seraphim

Two Shield of the Seraphim pieces come with the figurine.

Blokees Doctor Strange comes with two Shield of the Seraphim accessories. Both are a little too large in terms of scale. They’ve got handles at the back and rather than being fixed, you can actually rotate them. This will give you more options when positioning the shields as you pose the figurine.

I’m really happy that Blokees included two shields with Blokees Doctor Strange. You can pose him with one, two, or even none of the shields.

Conclusion

Blokees Doctor Strange was the figurine that I really wanted to get from Marvel Infinity Saga Series 02. His Shield of the Seraphim really look great in photos. The figurine itself is quite detailed and relatively accurate. I can accept the missing straps because the Blokees models do have limitations.

“I’ve come to bargain!”

Blokees Doctor Strange is my favorite figure from Infinity Saga Series 02 and I highly recommend him to any Blokees Marvel collector. If you’re a fan of Doctor Strange, you’ll be happy with this representation of him.
