I recently purchased a Blokees Star-Lord figurine and I’d like to talk about it today!

My Blokees Star-Lord figure.
What are Blokees?
People use the word Blokees in different ways. First, Blokees is a company that produces collectible plastic model figurines. These figurines have the Blokees brand and are referred to as Blokees themselves. At the time of this writing, the most popular Blokees are the Transformers line. But Blokees has been exploring other licenses, coming up with other series like Ultraman and Pokemon. Check out the official Blokees website for more information about them.
Last 2024, Blokees released the Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 02 line of figurines. The Blokees Star-Lord figurine that I’ll be reviewing today is part of the Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 02 line. Note that Marvel Blokees are blind boxes – you don’t know what figurine you’ll get until you open it.
Blokees Marvel General Stuff
The Blokees Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 02 figurines are very similar to each other. Most of the figurines use the same parts for the chest and torso internals, arms, and legs. So, what can be said about a specific figure in terms of assembly and articulation also applies to other figurines in the same line. A Blokees Marvel figure comes disassembled inside a sealed opaque package. All the pieces are already cut and either colored or pre-painted. Even decals are already attached, so all you need to do is put the pieces together. What’s new in Series 02 are the thigh parts. Unlike Series 01, Series 02 figurines now have an additional joint above the knee which allows for better leg articulation. This joint also allows for separate kneecaps, so the knees are no longer built into the boots of the figurines.

Having fun with my Marvel Blokees figurines.
The new thigh parts also gave me the most difficulty in assembling these Marvel Blokees figures. I had trouble figuring out an easy way to connect them until my last Series 02 figurine. Aside from this, anyone used to Blokees figures should find assembly to be an easy task. There isn’t a need to attach any decals or stickers since they already come attached to the parts. With the amount of Blokees experience under my belt, assembling the rest of the figure parts was very easy. One minor issue that I have is that it’s quite easy for a part to get dislodged, especially when posing them. But these figurines are meant for display and not for any rough play. Any part that’s dislodged during posing or handling can easily be put back again.
These Marvel Blokees figures also have decent articulation, which I didn’t expect for a small figurine that requires assembly. There are hinge joints for the knees and elbows, and ball-and-socket joints for the shoulders, wrists, hips, and ankles. The neck piece allows for the head to have some rotation. When assembled, these Marvel Blokees figures are definitely poseable.
Appearance and Details
I don’t expect one-to-one accuracy with the reference material, but I still expect these figurines to be close to what they are representing. It looks like Blokees Star-Lord is based on the character from Avengers: Infinity War.

The color of the jacket on Blokees Star-Lord is too light compared to the source but a lot of the details on it match the source. You’ve got the dark patches on the upper chest and shoulder blades, decals of the pins on the left collar, and the belt straps around the biceps area and at the sides of the torso.

This jacket looks like it’s the one from Avengers: Infinity War.
The shirt underneath is darker than the jacket and is in the same color as the dark patches that I mentioned earlier. The brown belt and silver buckle both match the source as well. Each shoulder of Blokees Star-Lord has decals with belt straps, and the forearms have decals that match the folds at the end of the sleeves of the original jacket. The colors on these decals are a little too strong for my taste but I like that there was an effort to make this figurine look accurate.

Right side of Star-Lord.
The forearms of Blokees Star-Lord are noteworthy because this is the first Blokees Marvel figurine that I got that doesn’t have oversized forearms. Star-Lord has the generic Blokees hands which is perfect since this figurine comes with two blaster guns. The figurine has brown upper legs to represent his pants.

Lower body of the Star-Lord figure.
I was surprised to find decals on the hips that represent pockets. These really help in adding details to the figurine. Like all normal-sized figurines from Series 2 onwards, Star-Lord has the new knee joints which allow for better articulation. His boots are predominantly black (or really dark gray), which is an inaccuracy that I don’t mind.

Back of the Star-Lord figurine.
The back of the Star-Lord figurine doesn’t have any decals or painted patterns but the back of the torso does have some contours that give his jacket some definition.

Star-Lord’s weapons.
As I mentioned earlier, Blokees Star-Lord comes with two blaster accessories. If you compare them with the actual guns, there are some inaccuracies. But the Blokees versions of the blasters were made to fit in the Blokees hands. Most of the elements of the actual blasters are there.

Star-Lord fighting an Outrider.
Blokees made the decision to have Star-Lord in his partial helmet, and I’m glad that they did. Star-Lord often had his face covered while in battle so the mask should be familiar. And they did a great job in making the mask look as accurate as possible despite being limited to the scale of the figurine.
Conclusion
I only intended to collect Avengers members when I bought my first Blokees Marvel figurines. I had to think twice while I was considering adding Blokees Star-Lord to my collection since I wasn’t sure if Blokees would be doing more Guardians of the Galaxy characters. I’m glad that I went ahead with the purchase because Blokees Star-Lord is a really good figurine.

“Don’t forget, I’m half-human. So that 50% of me that’s stupid? That’s 100% you.”
Sure, there are inaccuracies, but the errors are quite minor and understandable. I also agree with the version of Star-Lord that Blokees chose to do a figurine of. I highly recommend Star-Lord for anyone collecting Marvel Blokees, especially with Rocket and Groot being part of Infinity Saga Series 3.
