I recently purchased the Champion Class Captain America model kit from Blokees and I’d like to talk about it today!

What are Blokees?

People use the word Blokees in different ways. First, Blokees is a company that produces collectible plastic model figurines. These figurines have the Blokees brand and are referred to as Blokees themselves. At the time of this writing, the most popular Blokees are the Transformers line. But Blokees has been exploring other licenses, coming up with other series like Ultraman and Pokemon. Check out the official Blokees website for more information about them.

In 2024, Blokees started releasing Marvel Infinity Saga Series 01 figurines. These small model kits are considered Hero-10 Class and come in blind boxes. In 2025, Blokees started releasing Champion Class model kits for their Marvel Infinity Saga product line. Champion Class model kits are slightly taller (approximately 13.4 cm high) than the Hero-10 Class and do not come in blind boxes. The Marvel Infinity Saga Champion Class model kits are more similar to other model kits in that the parts of the figurine are still affixed in separate frames called runners, and assembling the model kits takes quite a bit of time.

Assembly

To provide context, let me first admit that I am not an experienced model kit builder. The last time I assembled a model kit was more than twenty years ago, so these opinions are coming from a novice. And as a novice, my experience in assembling Champion Class Captain America was relatively smooth with only a few issues. The assembly instructions that came with this model kit was quite easy to understand, despite being in Chinese. Each part is clearly illustrated and labelled with the runner and part number.

What gave me problems in assembly were really small parts, such as the ball joints in each wrist and the ball joints that made up the “pelvis” of the model. These were challenging because of their small size, so it was tough for me to push them snugly together. I have to admit, my thumbs were a little sore due to pushing these small pieces together.

Appearance and Details

The Blokees Champion Class Captain America model kit is the third release under the Marvel Infinity Saga line after Iron Man and Thor. This model kit is based on Captain America from Avengers: Endgame. There is a great amount of care that went to ensuring the details on this model kit are accurate. Let’s talk about the main figurine first.

Champion Class Captain America

Champion Class Captain America.

The first thing that stood out to me about Champion Class Captain America is how his costume comes in a really dark shade of blue. I thought it was too dark but after checking references, this shade of blue seems to be accurate. Cap’s mask has the prominent capital A on the mask, the wing symbols on either side, and the chin straps. The eyeholes are a little bit high, which results in the eyes showing at the bottom instead of the center of each.

Captain America’s upper body.

Cap’s upper body is quite intricate. It has the brown straps that connect at the back which is for holding his shield. The chest has all these patterns and linings that give it texture. Some areas of the chest have the scale mail pattern of Cap’s costume. The abdomen comes in white with red markings and linings. Finally, the belt comes in brown with a silver buckle and two pouches on both sides.

The left and right sides of this model kit are quite similar. Both arms have the Avengers logo as decals on the shoulder, two red stripes, and scale mail patterns. The legs also have the same scale mail patterns as well as red lining. It seems that this costume has large pockets on either hip, but Champion Class Captain America doesn’t have that. The boots come in a single shade of brown but does have engravings of the belt straps that go all around them.

Champion Class Captain america back

Back of the Captain America figurine.

The back of the Champion Class Captain America figurine quite plain when it comes to color, which comes in mostly dark blue and brown. But each part comes with linings, engravings, and patterns that give the figurine a lot of texture. There is a silver panel where the upper body straps meet, and we’ll talk about this in more detail in the next section. When it comes to accuracy of details, I’m quite satisfied with what the main Captain America figurine delivers.

Accessories and Additional Parts

My issues with Champion Class Captain America involve the included accessories. The previous two Infinity Saga Champion Class model kits from Blokees, Iron Man and Thor, both have a generous number of inclusions. Captain America though has far less. This model kit comes with two closed fists, two neutral hands, a right hand for holding Mjolnir, and a left open hand which appears to be for shield-throwing poses. It also comes with Cap’s trademark vibranium shield, a clip for attaching the shield to an arm, a part that attaches the shield to the back, and Mjolnir.

So what’s missing? I would have wanted some electric effects for Mjolnir, to keep it consistent with Champion Class Thor. I would have also wanted a broken shield and an alternate battle damaged head, which is consistent with Captain America from Avengers: Endgame. While not an issue, I think it’s worth saying that Mjolnir does not fit into any of Champion Class Thor’s hands. So if you were thinking of giving the hammer to the other model kit – it doesn’t work seamlessly.

shield attachment

Cap’s shield attached to the back.

Now let’s get to the most important accessory of Champion Class Captain America, which is the shield. First off, the clip that attaches the shield to the arm works perfectly. You can use it to attach the shield to either the left or the right arm. What doesn’t work is the part that attaches the shield to Cap’s back. Blokees designed an attachment part that allows you to tilt the shield vertically. This made the part too long, resulting in the gap between Cap’s back and the shield to be too wide. Because of this, I seldom consider poses with Cap’s shield attached to his back.

Now for the shield itself. Honestly, I’m quite disappointed. When I saw the prototype for Champion Class Captain America, I noticed that the shield seemed to be too small. I had hoped that we would get a larger shield in the actual released product. Well, the shield that comes along with this model kit is a little small for me. This isn’t always obvious when looking at photos. But whenever I have the figure in hand, I can’t help but notice it.

Note how much of Cap’s body can this shield actually cover.

What’s really frustrating is knowing that Blokees already has a shield that works better with this model kit – the one they used on their Hero-10 Class Captain America from Infinity Saga Series 01. This is completely subjective, of course. The shield that comes along with Champion Class Captain America is too small for my taste, but other people might not feel the same way.

Conclusion

After I finished building the Blokees Champion Class Captain America model kit, I was feeling bad. I started collecting this line specifically because I wanted better versions of Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor. And I felt that I wasted my money all because the included shield was too small. In my opinion, the shield should be large enough that you can picture Captain America curling up his entire body into a ball be able to hide behind the shield.

“I can do this all day.”

I’ve softened up my stance since then, but I still think that the shield makes or breaks this model kit. Before you purchase Champion Class Captain America, make sure you take a look at as many photos as you can. Ask yourself if you’re fine with a version of Cap that has a slightly smaller shield. If you are, then this is going to be a great figure. I’m not happy with this shield, so I’m already working on modding the Hero-10 shield to be able to work with Champion Class Cap.
