I recently purchased a Blokees Captain America figurine and I’d like to talk about it today!

 

 

What are Blokees?

People use the word Blokees in different ways. First, Blokees is a company that produces collectible plastic model figurines. These figurines have the Blokees brand and are referred to as Blokees themselves. At the time of this writing, the most popular Blokees are the Transformers line. But Blokees has been exploring other licenses, coming up with other series like Ultraman and Pokemon. Check out the official Blokees website for more information about them.

Last October 2024, Blokees released the Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 01 line of figurines. The Blokees Captain America figurine that I’ll be reviewing today is part of the Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 01 line. Note that Marvel Blokees are blind boxes – you don’t know what figurine you’ll get until you open it.

 

Blokees Marvel General Stuff

The Blokees Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 01 figurines are very similar to each other. Most of the figurines use the same parts for the chest and torso internals, arms, and legs. So, what can be said about a specific figure in terms of assembly and articulation also applies to other figurines in the same line. A Blokees Marvel figure comes disassembled inside a sealed opaque package. All the pieces are already cut and either colored or pre-painted. Even decals are already attached, so all you need to do is put the pieces together.

 

 

With that said, I actually had a harder time with assembling Blokees Captain America than I expected. But that’s simply because this was my first time with a Blokees figurine and not any fault of the figure itself. I was also thrown off a bit by the assembly instructions that were included in the box, which used Iron Man as the example figure. Anyone used to Blokees figures should find assembly to be an easy task, especially since there isn’t a need to attach any decals or stickers. One minor issue that I have is that it’s quite easy for a part to get dislodged – especially the hands. But these figurines are meant for display and not for any rough play. Any part that’s dislodged during posing or handling can easily be put back again.

These Marvel Blokees figures also had decent articulation, which I didn’t expect for a small figurine that requires assembly. There are hinge joints for the knees and elbows, and ball-and-socket joints for the shoulders, wrists, hips, and ankles. The neck piece allows for the head to have some rotation. When assembled, these Marvel Blokees figures are definitely poseable.

 

Appearance and Details

While I don’t expect one-to-one accuracy with the reference material, I would really like for these figurines to be close to what they are representing. And I’m quite satisfied with how the Blokees Captain America looks. It looks like Blokees based this figure on Captain America from Avengers: Endgame.

 

 

Blokees Captain America comes in a lighter shade of blue with brown boots up to his knees. His legs don’t have pockets or red lining. The arms are also without red lining, save for a stripe of red over the forearm shell. And the shoulders don’t have the Avengers symbol.

 

 

Cap’s hands are brown to represent gloves. Both hands are shaped so that either one can hold the shield. I really wish that Blokees included a pair of hands that were close fisted so that we can put this Captain America in punching poses.

 

 

The chest and torso are quite detailed. The belt is plain brown but it is molded to show multiple pouches. The chest plate has an exaggerated version of Cap’s costume linings and has his trademark silver star. The straps are painted brown, including the buckles. I like how the red stripes on Cap’s torso kept the contours and dotted lines. A “cut point” (where the piece was attached to its runner) is visible on the chest plate.

 

 

The back still has some good details. The brown straps all go into buckles which aren’t painted. There’s a hole for attaching Cap’s shield right in the middle. Another cut point is visible at the back of the cuff. Sadly, there’s some brown paint bleeding around the cuff.

 

 

The head of Blokees Captain America is pretty decent. It comes with decals for the eyes already attached. His eyes are a lovely shade of blue. The face is shaped well, giving an animated feel to it. The A is painted on and mine had a slight imperfection that’s only visible to me when I zoomed in on a close up. His helmet strap is clear and visible.

 

 

Cap’s shield is very eye catching. It is painted with very vivid red and blue and is quite glossy. It has two pegs underneath. You can affix the shield to Cap’s back using the middle peg. Meanwhile, you can insert the longer peg into either of Cap’s hands to make him “hold” the shield. His hands can’t grip the sides of the shield though. If you want Cap to be in a shield-throwing pose, you’ll need to get creative.

 

 

Whatever’s missing in the details is not critical, in my opinion. Blokees Captain America has enough detail for me to really appreciate how it looks.

 

Conclusion

Blokees Captain America really sold me on Marvel Blokees and had I gotten someone else as my first pull, I may not have continued collecting these. Again, I wasn’t expecting this figurine to have 100% of the details of Captain America’s costume, so I was really happy with the amount of detail that this figurine had.

 

 

Captain America wasn’t that hard to assemble. I was really satisfied with the quality of the plastic and the design of the figurine, which gave it a decent level of articulation. My only complaint is that this figurine only comes with one pair of hands. A pair of closed fists would have increased the possible poses that you could do with the figure. Out of the Blokees Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 01 figurines that I have, Captain America is my favorite. For the price point, Blokees Captain America is worth it.
