Blokees Thanos Review (Marvel Infinity Saga Series 03)

I recently purchased a Blokees Thanos figurine and I’d like to talk about it today!

Blokees Thanos Infinity War

My Blokees Thanos figure.

What are Blokees?

People use the word Blokees in different ways. First, Blokees is a company that produces collectible plastic model figurines. These figurines have the Blokees brand and are referred to as Blokees themselves. At the time of this writing, the most popular Blokees are the Transformers line. But Blokees has been exploring other licenses, coming up with other series like Ultraman and Pokemon. Check out the official Blokees website for more information about them.

This year (2025), Blokees released the Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 03 line of figurines. The Blokees Thanos figurine that I’ll be reviewing today is part of the Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 03 line. Note that Marvel Blokees are blind boxes – you don’t know what figurine you’ll get until you open it.

Blokees Marvel General Stuff

The Blokees Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 03 figurines are very similar to each other. Most of the figurines use the same parts for the chest and torso internals, arms, and legs. So, what can be said about a specific figure in terms of assembly and articulation also applies to other figurines in the same line. A Blokees Marvel figure comes disassembled inside a sealed opaque package. All the pieces are already cut and either colored or pre-painted. Even decals are already attached, so all you need to do is put the pieces together. Series 03 has the improved knee joints from Series 02 that offers better leg articulation. In Series 03, these knee joints are already assembled out of the box, which is worth mentioning because they were hard to put together.

Having fun with my Marvel Blokees figurines.

Anyone used to Blokees figures should find assembly to be an easy task. There isn’t a need to attach any decals or stickers since they already come attached to the parts. With the amount of Blokees experience under my belt, assembling the rest of the figure parts was very easy. One minor issue that I have is that it’s quite easy for a part to get dislodged, especially when posing them. But these figurines are meant for display and not for any rough play. Any part that’s dislodged during posing or handling can easily be put back again.

These Marvel Blokees figures also have decent articulation, which I didn’t expect for a small figurine that requires assembly. There are hinge joints for the knees and elbows, and ball-and-socket joints for the shoulders, wrists, hips, and ankles. The neck piece allows for the head to have some rotation. When assembled, these Marvel Blokees figures are definitely poseable.

Appearance and Details

I don’t expect one-to-one accuracy with the reference material, but I still expect these figurines to be close to what they are representing. It is quite obvious that this version of Thanos is based on Thanos from Avengers: Infinity War. In case you’re not aware, this is the second time that Thanos was released in Blokees form. The first Blokees Thanos is part of Infinity Saga Series 01 and is based on Thanos from Avengers: Endgame.

Based on marketing, I think Blokees wanted Thanos to be one of the highlights of Series 03 (alongside Iron Man Mark L) so I’ll try to get into more details with this figurine. The design for Infinity War Thanos isn’t that complicated, and I’m glad to say that Blokees nailed most of the details with Blokees Thanos. Starting with the upper body, Thanos’ skin seems to have gotten lighter. Thanos’ head is quite detailed, with wrinkles noticeable all over especially on his forehead and chin. I would have preferred Thanos to have a smirk or an angry expression instead of the neutral expression that it has.

Thanos’ upper body.

Blokees Thanos has the same dark blue top with gold plating as the source. There are some patches on the gold plating that should’ve been painted blue, but this is just a minor issue. The upper garment also has the collar that goes around his neck. His belt is also more pronounced due to the way Blokees parts are designed.

Blokees Thanos side view

Thanos’ right side.

Blokees Thanos has massive muscular arms and hands. His right hand is slightly open, as if molded to be able to hold a weapon. His left hand is a closed fist that is adorned by the Infinity Gauntlet. Unlike other “big” Blokees figurines, Thanos’ arms have been molded in such a way that there aren’t any visible gaps in the elbows and wrists. This improves appearance a lot at the expense of reduced articulation.

Blokees Thanos lower body

Thanos’ lower body.

The lower body of Blokees Thanos is quite simple. He’s got the green pants and the brown boots that have covers for his knees. Unlike the other figures in Series 03, Thanos has the “big” figure knee joints.

Blokees Thanos back

The back of Blokees Thanos.

Surprisingly, the back of Blokees Thanos has some coloring errors. I expected the gold plating to have those patches that should’ve been painted blue, but what I didn’t expect is for the back of the belt to be completely blue. I guess Thanos’ shirt goes over the belt at some point, but the execution here is very clunky.

Infinity Gauntlet

The Infinity Gauntlet.

Of course, we have to talk about the Infinity Gauntlet. Thanos’ left hand is actually the Gauntlet, which comes in three parts. So there is no option to remove the Gauntlet from the figurine as there isn’t a hand inside. The Gauntlet itself is well made, with a lot of engravings all over. The Infinity Stones are all in the right place and if you look closely, they come in different shapes as well.

Thanos vs Thanos

Series 03 vs Series 01 versions of Thanos.

Now, let me talk about some complaints that I have. They aren’t complaints about the figure itself, but on how Blokees Thanos compares to the other Marvel Blokees figurines. First of all, Series 03 Thanos has a completely different skin color from the Series 01 Thanos. This means that you can’t easily exchange parts without it being noticeable. The thought of putting the Infinity Gauntlet on Thanos from Endgame would’ve been nice, but it’s not possible here without heavy modding.

Thanos vs Steve Rogers

Thanos is as tall as Steve Rogers.

My second complaint has to do with size and scale. In Infnity Saga Series 01, there were “big” figures (Hulk and Thanos) that were visibly taller than the rest of the model kits. The new knee joints that Blokees created for “regular” figures starting from Series 02 actually made them taller, but the design of the “big” figures remain unchanged. Now, Blokees Thanos appears to be as tall as characters he should be towering over, like Steve Rogers and Bucky. If you’re someone who likes posing figurines and recreating scenes or events, this may be off-putting for you.

Conclusion

This new version of Blokees Thanos from Series 03 looks amazing. Most people won’t notice the coloring errors that I pointed out, and I don’t even mind them at all. Like I said earlier, the improved appearance comes at the cost of articulation. It is very hard to come up with different poses for this Thanos figurine. And the fact that the regular Marvel Blokees figurines got taller can also be an issue for those looking to do some toy photography.

Thanos posing

“You could not live with your own failure. Where did that bring you? Back to me.”

If you just want a good-looking Thanos figurine for your display, you’ll be very happy with this Blokees Thanos. If you’re looking to do more with it, you might be a little disappointed. As far as I’m concerned, I don’t understand why Blokees did another version of Thanos this early. We already have a Thanos in Series 01. Blokees could have waited until they were able to improve their designs for “big” figures. We could’ve gotten a more poseable, or a bigger Thanos at the very least. Because they pulled the trigger so early, we’ll have to settle for this one.
