I recently purchased a Blokees Thanos figurine and I’d like to talk about it today!

My Blokees Thanos figure.
What are Blokees?
People use the word Blokees in different ways. First, Blokees is a company that produces collectible plastic model figurines. These figurines have the Blokees brand and are referred to as Blokees themselves. At the time of this writing, the most popular Blokees are the Transformers line. But Blokees has been exploring other licenses, coming up with other series like Ultraman and Pokemon. Check out the official Blokees website for more information about them.
Last October 2024, Blokees released the Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 01 line of figurines. The Blokees Thanos figurine that I’ll be reviewing today is part of the Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 01 line. Note that Marvel Blokees are blind boxes – you don’t know what figurine you’ll get until you open it.
Blokees Marvel General Stuff
The Blokees Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 01 figurines are very similar to each other. Most of the figurines use the same parts for the chest and torso internals, arms, and legs. So, what can be said about a specific figure in terms of assembly and articulation also applies to other figurines in the same line. A Blokees Marvel figure comes disassembled inside a sealed opaque package. All the pieces are already cut and either colored or pre-painted. Even decals are already attached, so all you need to do is put the pieces together.

Having fun with my Marvel Blokees figurines.
Anyone used to Blokees figures should find assembly to be an easy task, especially since there isn’t a need to attach any decals or stickers. Even with a little bit of Blokees experience under my belt, I had a little bit of trouble assembling Blokees Thanos. He’s a larger figure so he’s got a few parts that are different from the regular Marvel Blokees figurine. After I figured out the new parts, it was quite easy again. One minor issue that I have is that it’s quite easy for a part to get dislodged, especially when posing them. But these figurines are meant for display and not for any rough play. Any part that’s dislodged during posing or handling can easily be put back again.
These Marvel Blokees figures also have decent articulation, which I didn’t expect for a small figurine that requires assembly. There are hinge joints for the knees and elbows, and ball-and-socket joints for the shoulders, wrists, hips, and ankles. The neck piece allows for the head to have some rotation. When assembled, these Marvel Blokees figures are definitely poseable.
Appearance and Details
I don’t expect one-to-one accuracy with the reference material, but I still expect these figurines to be close to what they are representing. Blokees Thanos is obviously based on Thanos from Avengers: Endgame.

The Blokees Thanos figurine is larger than the other Marvel Blokees figures, and he’s got more pieces for assembly too. He is quite similar to Blokees Hulk actually, with large body pieces. Thanos is adorned with his battle armor which has several minor inaccuracies. The most glaring error is having gold forearm guards instead of blackish leather gauntlets. This coloring error makes the elbow connections stand out. His boots look similar to the source, with only a spot that’s missing some black paint.

The figurine even has what I can only describe as armor flaps. These flaps come in separate pieces so they can be adjusted. The left and right flaps are missing black paint, while the front and back flaps have visible cut points. I like the detail that the flaps add to the figurine, but they do get in the way of some poses. Sometimes, they get detached or fall off while I’m posing the figure.

Thanos’ armor flaps can be detached.
I admire the effort that Blokees put in to make Blokees Thanos as accurate as possible. His chest and torso both have patterns that are similar to that of Thanos’ armor patterns. The chest just has some minor coloring errors (e.g. gold that should’ve been black and vice versa). But the engraving is really similar to the source.

Chest and torso.
The head is also quite detailed. Thanos has decals for eyes, which are quite clear and accurately placed. His face has linings which match the source. His prominent chin also has the lines that are well-known. Thanos also has his helmet, which you can actually remove to reveal his bald head. My only complaint is his facial expression. I would have preferred an angry expression with teeth bared.

The double-edged sword from Avengers: Endgame.
Finally, Blokees Thanos has his popular double-edged sword which actually comes in two pieces that don’t connect to each other. I don’t know why I thought it would actually be one single piece because Blokees Thanos has closed fists for hands. You’ll need to fit them into the holes in either hand.

Thanos vs Captain America.
Because the swords aren’t really connected, you can have Thanos hold them as two separate swords. And like Thanos, the swords are quite detailed. Each blade has engravings that are very similar to the actual source.
Conclusion
Despite the errors, Blokees Thanos is one of the better figurines to get in Infinity Saga Series 1. There’s just a lot of good stuff here, like the removable helmet and the inclusion of the double-edged sword. If only the forearms were colored correctly, this figurine would have been really good. Or at least, the elbow joints should have been in the same shade of purple like the rest of Thanos’ skin.

“I am inevitable.”
But it’s just a small error that I’m willing to overlook. Prior to making the decision to collect most of the Marvel Blokees figurines, Thanos was one of the four that I really wanted to get. And when I finally got him, I was quite satisfied. Blokees Thanos is definitely one of the must have figurines in Infinity Saga Series 01.
