I recently purchased a Blokees War Machine figurine and I’d like to talk about it today!

My Blokees War Machine figure.
What are Blokees?
People use the word Blokees in different ways. First, Blokees is a company that produces collectible plastic model figurines. These figurines have the Blokees brand and are referred to as Blokees themselves. At the time of this writing, the most popular Blokees are the Transformers line. But Blokees has been exploring other licenses, coming up with other series like Ultraman and Pokemon. Check out the official Blokees website for more information about them.
Last 2024, Blokees released the Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 02 line of figurines. The Blokees War Machine figurine that I’ll be reviewing today is part of the Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 02 line. Note that Marvel Blokees are blind boxes – you don’t know what figurine you’ll get until you open it.
Blokees Marvel General Stuff
The Blokees Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 02 figurines are very similar to each other. Most of the figurines use the same parts for the chest and torso internals, arms, and legs. So, what can be said about a specific figure in terms of assembly and articulation also applies to other figurines in the same line. A Blokees Marvel figure comes disassembled inside a sealed opaque package. All the pieces are already cut and either colored or pre-painted. Even decals are already attached, so all you need to do is put the pieces together. What’s new in Series 02 are the thigh parts. Unlike Series 01, Series 02 figurines now have an additional joint above the knee which allows for better leg articulation. This joint also allows for separate kneecaps, so the knees are no longer built into the boots of the figurines.

Having fun with my Marvel Blokees figurines.
The new thigh parts also gave me the most difficulty in assembling these Marvel Blokees figures. I had trouble figuring out an easy way to connect them until my last Series 02 figurine. Aside from this, anyone used to Blokees figures should find assembly to be an easy task. There isn’t a need to attach any decals or stickers since they already come attached to the parts. With the amount of Blokees experience under my belt, assembling the rest of the figure parts was very easy. One minor issue that I have is that it’s quite easy for a part to get dislodged, especially when posing them. But these figurines are meant for display and not for any rough play. Any part that’s dislodged during posing or handling can easily be put back again.
These Marvel Blokees figures also have decent articulation, which I didn’t expect for a small figurine that requires assembly. There are hinge joints for the knees and elbows, and ball-and-socket joints for the shoulders, wrists, hips, and ankles. The neck piece allows for the head to have some rotation. When assembled, these Marvel Blokees figures are definitely poseable.
Appearance and Details
I don’t expect one-to-one accuracy with the reference material, but I still expect these figurines to be close to what they are representing. It looks like Blokees War Machine was based on War Machine from Iron Man 2.

Blokees War Machine has one flaw which really ruined the figurine for me. For some reason, Blokees messed up the face plate and instead of having a black panel running on top of the head in black, it is in silver. I don’t really understand how this happened because Blokees did a great job with the armored figurines in Series 01 and Series 03. Essentially, those figurines (the different Iron Man versions, Rescue, Iron Patriot) had that panel as part of the back part of the head, leaving the front plate with an indentation at the forehead. And I just noticed that the red decals in War Machine’s eyes are a little misaligned.

War Machine looks more like a Hellfire Club guard because of this.
The issue with the red decals is something that you wouldn’t really notice, but the faceplate error is quite glaring even from promotional images. Before I bought Blokees War Machine, I was really thinking about whether I could tolerate this error or not. And I couldn’t. These errors can be fixed easily with a little paint – but we shouldn’t have to paint these figures. For the record, I’ve already painted my War Machine’s faceplate as of this writing.

There’s a nice-looking decal for the Arc Reactor now.
This error really annoyed me because I can see that a lot of effort was put into making the Blokees War Machine figure as accurate as it can be. Starting with the upper body, War Machine has a gatling gun attachment on its right shoulder. The ball joint of the gun doesn’t allow for much up and down movement, so you can only aim it sideways. On the chest are the same metal panels at the sides. The arc reactor is now represented with a decal. The torso also has a decal that attempts to recreate the panels and screws on the original armor. The chest piece could have been a little bulkier, though.

Left side of War Machine.
The upper arms of Blokees War Machine are in metallic gray with silver decals that mimic the looks of the original. The forearms both have attachments that closely resemble the ones from the source. There’s even a decal that says “001” on the left side of the chest piece, which is a neat detail.

War Machine’s legs.
Continuing the effort to be accurate, Blokees War Machine has dark metallic gray hips with lighter silver decals in front to represent the panels in front of the War Machine armor’s hips. The legs and feet are both all black and have a blocky shape to mimic the mechanical armor parts.

War Machine comes with energy blasts.
Unlike the common figures in Series 01, Blokees War Machine comes with two energy blast attachments. He’s also got an extra pair of hands with palms facing outward. All four hands have holes in the palms for the energy blasts. This is a good time to note the lost opportunity with the gatling gun. The gun could have had a hole in it as well, which would allow you to attach an energy blast to it.

Iron Man vs War Machine.
Being part of Series 02, Blokees War Machine has the updated knee joints which bends further and adds some rotation to the articulation. War Machine isn’t the best character to really make use of the additional articulation, but having it definitely adds to this figure.
Conclusion
Blokees War Machine is a really good figure that would have been close to perfect if not for that face plate error. I don’t think War Machine will get re-released again though, so I still got the figure despite the flaw. With a handy Gundam fine-tipped marker, I was able to correct the mistake.

“Boom, you looking for this?”
All the other flaws or opportunities that I mentioned are acceptable for me. With the painted face plate, I’m quite happy with my War Machine figurine now. If you don’t mind the error on the face plate or you have the ability to paint it, then I’d say War Machine is a great addition to your Marvel Blokees collection.
