I recently purchased a Blokees Spider-Man figurine and I’d like to talk about it today!

Blokees Spider-Man

My Blokees Spider-Man figure.

What are Blokees?

People use the word Blokees in different ways. First, Blokees is a company that produces collectible plastic model figurines. These figurines have the Blokees brand and are referred to as Blokees themselves. At the time of this writing, the most popular Blokees are the Transformers line. But Blokees has been exploring other licenses, coming up with other series like Ultraman and Pokemon. Check out the official Blokees website for more information about them.

Last 2024, Blokees released the Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 02 line of figurines. The Blokees Spider-Man figurine that I’ll be reviewing today is part of the Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 02 line. Note that Marvel Blokees are blind boxes – you don’t know what figurine you’ll get until you open it.

Blokees Marvel General Stuff

The Blokees Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 02 figurines are very similar to each other. Most of the figurines use the same parts for the chest and torso internals, arms, and legs. So, what can be said about a specific figure in terms of assembly and articulation also applies to other figurines in the same line. A Blokees Marvel figure comes disassembled inside a sealed opaque package. All the pieces are already cut and either colored or pre-painted. Even decals are already attached, so all you need to do is put the pieces together. What’s new in Series 02 are the thigh parts. Unlike Series 01, Series 02 figurines now have an additional joint above the knee which allows for better leg articulation. This joint also allows for separate kneecaps, so the knees are no longer built into the boots of the figurines.

Having fun with my Marvel Blokees figurines.

The new thigh parts also gave me the most difficulty in assembling these Marvel Blokees figures. I had trouble figuring out an easy way to connect them until my last Series 02 figurine. Aside from this, anyone used to Blokees figures should find assembly to be an easy task. There isn’t a need to attach any decals or stickers since they already come attached to the parts. With the amount of Blokees experience under my belt, assembling the rest of the figure parts was very easy. One minor issue that I have is that it’s quite easy for a part to get dislodged, especially when posing them. But these figurines are meant for display and not for any rough play. Any part that’s dislodged during posing or handling can easily be put back again.

These Marvel Blokees figures also have decent articulation, which I didn’t expect for a small figurine that requires assembly. There are hinge joints for the knees and elbows, and ball-and-socket joints for the shoulders, wrists, hips, and ankles. The neck piece allows for the head to have some rotation. When assembled, these Marvel Blokees figures are definitely poseable.

Appearance and Details

I don’t expect one-to-one accuracy with the reference material, but I still expect these figurines to be close to what they are representing. Blokees Spider-Man is definitely based on Spider-Man from Avengers: Infinity War. Note that this is the regular version of Spider-Man and not the Secret Chase.

When I put together Blokees Spider-Man, I started with the upper body. I was immediately impressed with the chest. There’s a web pattern engraved, along with a dotted texture on the plastic. The spider pattern looks great and does a good job of representing the source. That spider pattern continues with the torso. Perfectionists might note that the gold on the chest comes off as darker, but that’s probably because of the dotted texture. There’s also inconsistency with the web pattern. On the chest, back, and head of the figurine, the web pattern is engraved and uncolored. On the neck and torso, the web pattern is in black lining and not engraved.

When I got to the arms, I noticed that Blokees Spider-Man had thinner upper and lower arms. The upper arms have decals that mimic the colors of the source. Both arms also have golden web shooters, but they are much larger. The hands offer the first issue that I have with this figurine. Both are in the trademark “thwip” pose, which limits the kinds of poses that you can do with this figurine. Spider-Man could really have used an extra pair of hands, preferably closed fists.

When I got to the legs of Blokees Spider-Man, I saw the figurine’s second flaw. Unlike the arms, the legs are exactly the same as the other normal sized Blokees figurines. This makes the Spider-Man figurine disproportionate when you look at it as a whole. It’s not a glaring flaw but once I realized it, I could no longer unsee the issue.

There is an attempt to mimic the patterns of the source, with some black linings in front of the hips and web patterns on the legs. This only applies on the front though, as the back of both legs are absent of any decals. In fact, there are no decals on the entire back of the figurine. Thankfully, Spider-Man has his spider pattern at the back, built into the plastic pieces.

Blokees Marvel Infinity Saga Series 02 makes use of new knee joints which allows for better articulation and Blokees Spider-Man is great for showcasing this. The new knees will let you bend the legs fully. With a flight stand, you can do a lot of different jumping poses with Spider-Man.

Blokees Spider-Man articulation

Spider-Man really benefits from the improved articulation of the new knee joints.

Blokees Spider-Man also comes with a clear plastic webline that you can attach to either one of the wrists.

I didn’t bother trying to get the Secret Chase version but let me talk about what’s different with it. The Secret Chase has two web lines instead of one, and it has the four robotic arms that this costume is known for. These arms actually have good articulation. I just didn’t like my Spidey to have blue eyes so I settled for the regular version.

Conclusion

Originally, I didn’t want to get Series 02 Blokees Spider-Man. I prefer the classic red and blue costume from Spider-Man: No Way Home over the Infinity War spider-armor. But I got it anyway, just in case Blokees doesn’t release another version of Spider-Man. I was a little disappointed with the disproportion between the legs and the arms. Frankly, I think normal sized-arms would have been better for this figurine.

“Spider-sense is tingling!”

Despite my disappointment, I’m happy to have Blokees Spider-Man in my collection. Blokees is leaning heavily on Infinity War and Endgame so having this version is handy. I’m still going to wait for a different version of Spider-Man though.
