I recently purchased two Blokees Iron Man Mark LXXXV figurines and I’d like to talk about them today!

What are Blokees?
People use the word Blokees in different ways. First, Blokees is a company that produces collectible plastic model figurines. These figurines have the Blokees brand and are referred to as Blokees themselves. At the time of this writing, the most popular Blokees are the Transformers line. But Blokees has been exploring other licenses, coming up with other series like Ultraman and Pokemon. Check out the official Blokees website for more information about them.
Last October 2024, Blokees released the Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 01 line of figurines. The Blokees Iron Man Mark LXXXV figurine that I’ll be reviewing today is part of the Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 01 line. Note that Marvel Blokees are blind boxes – you don’t know what figurine you’ll get until you open it.
Blokees Marvel General Stuff
The Blokees Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 01 figurines are very similar to each other. Most of the figurines use the same parts for the chest and torso internals, arms, and legs. So, what can be said about a specific figure in terms of assembly and articulation also applies to other figurines in the same line. A Blokees Marvel figure comes disassembled inside a sealed opaque package. All the pieces are already cut and either colored or pre-painted. Even decals are already attached, so all you need to do is put the pieces together.

Having fun with my Marvel Blokees figurines.
Anyone used to Blokees figures should find assembly to be an easy task, especially since there isn’t a need to attach any decals or stickers. Even with a little bit of Blokees experience under my belt, I had a little bit of trouble assembling Blokees Thanos. He’s a larger figure so he’s got a few parts that are different from the regular Marvel Blokees figurine. After I figured out the new parts, it was quite easy again. One minor issue that I have is that it’s quite easy for a part to get dislodged, especially when posing them. But these figurines are meant for display and not for any rough play. Any part that’s dislodged during posing or handling can easily be put back again.
These Marvel Blokees figures also have decent articulation, which I didn’t expect for a small figurine that requires assembly. There are hinge joints for the knees and elbows, and ball-and-socket joints for the shoulders, wrists, hips, and ankles. The neck piece allows for the head to have some rotation. When assembled, these Marvel Blokees figures are definitely poseable.
Appearance and Details
I don’t expect one-to-one accuracy with the reference material, but I still expect these figurines to be close to what they are representing. Because we know the model number, it’s easy to confirm that Blokees Iron Man Mark LXXXV is based on Iron Man from Avengers: Endgame.

I originally got the Blokees Iron Man LXXXV figurine that wasn’t the secret chase figure, but one key difference between the two made me want to get the latter. The two figurines are essentially the same, but the secret chase Iron Man has metallic red parts instead of normal red. It became a big deal for me when Blokees revealed the upcoming Series 03 figurines which also had an Iron Man version. The Series 03 Iron Man comes with a pair of closed fist hands (finally) which come in metallic red. Obviously, that wouldn’t have matched the normal Iron Man LXXXV figurine.

Both figurines have detailed chest pieces.
The chest of Blokees Iron Man Mark LXXXV comes in three pieces. The silver parts are actually a middle piece that is sandwiched between two red plates. I like that Blokees did it this way instead of using decals to recreate the silver parts of Iron Man’s Mark LXXXV armor. The head also matches the source, being a little more contoured compared to older armors. The torso has decals that are in the pattern of the original armor. The upper arms are in gold with silver decals. It doesn’t match the source completely, but you can really see what Blokees was going for.

The lower arms are in their respective red colors. The forearms are wider due to the Series 01 Blokees figurines design. Understandably the linings don’t match the source, but each forearm has a silver line that does attempt to mimic the Mark LXXXV’s arm patterns. Both figurines come with two pairs of robotic hands that have holes in the palms to fit energy blast pieces. One pair is in a resting pose while the other has the palms facing forward.

The Mark LXXXV leg parts.
The upper legs of both Blokees Iron Man LXXXV figurines come in gold. Both have light gray and red decals at the front and back as efforts to mimic the separated leg panels of the source. The lower legs are in red with gold kneecaps. Unlike other figurines in mechanical armor, Mark LXXXV have red feet that are a little more contoured.

Back of the Mark LXXXV figurines.
The backs of Blokees Iron Man Mark LXXXV have gold and silver painted panels in accordance to the source armor. Together with the leg decals and silver line on the forearms, this helps avoid making the back of the LXXXV figurines look plain.

Shiny vs dull.
The other difference between the secret chase and normal Mark LXXXV is in the number of energy blasts that it comes with. The normal LXXXV only comes with one energy blast, while the secret chase has two of them. If Mark LXXXV is your only Marvel Blokees figurine then you’re limited to only one. But if you have the other armored figurines, you’ll have plenty of these energy blasts available.
Conclusion
When I got my Iron Man Mark VII, I was disappointed. I thought I would be satisfied with the regular Iron Man Mark LXXXV. But when I saw that the new Series 03 Iron Man would be in metallic red, I started to want the secret chase. Iron Man simply looks better in metallic red, and I want to be able to use the new Series 03 hands on my Mark LXXXV.

“I am Iron Man!”
A lot of effort was put into the Blokees Iron Man Mark LXXXV figurines, but the plain plastic red of the regular version clashes with the shiny gold parts. I think Blokees is finally doing it right in Series 03, where the regular Iron Man is in metallic red. If you have the regular version of Iron Man Mark LXXXV, I would understand why you would still want the secret chase version. if you have the resources and ability to get the secret chase, go and get that one.
