I recently purchased a Blokees Hulkbuster figurine and I’d like to talk about it today!

What are Blokees?

People use the word Blokees in different ways. First, Blokees is a company that produces collectible plastic model figurines. These figurines have the Blokees brand and are referred to as Blokees themselves. At the time of this writing, the most popular Blokees are the Transformers line. But Blokees has been exploring other licenses, coming up with other series like Ultraman and Pokemon. Check out the official Blokees website for more information about them.

This year (2025), Blokees released the Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 03 line of figurines. The Blokees Hulkbuster figurine that I’ll be reviewing today is part of the Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 03 line. Note that Marvel Blokees are blind boxes – you don’t know what figurine you’ll get until you open it.

Blokees Marvel General Stuff

The Blokees Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 03 figurines are very similar to each other. Most of the figurines use the same parts for the chest and torso internals, arms, and legs. So, what can be said about a specific figure in terms of assembly and articulation also applies to other figurines in the same line. A Blokees Marvel figure comes disassembled inside a sealed opaque package. All the pieces are already cut and either colored or pre-painted. Even decals are already attached, so all you need to do is put the pieces together. Series 03 has the improved knee joints from Series 02 that offers better leg articulation. In Series 03, these knee joints are already assembled out of the box, which is worth mentioning because they were hard to put together.

Having fun with my Marvel Blokees figurines.

Anyone used to Blokees figures should find assembly to be an easy task. There isn’t a need to attach any decals or stickers since they already come attached to the parts. With the amount of Blokees experience under my belt, assembling the rest of the figure parts was very easy. One minor issue that I have is that it’s quite easy for a part to get dislodged, especially when posing them. But these figurines are meant for display and not for any rough play. Any part that’s dislodged during posing or handling can easily be put back again.

These Marvel Blokees figures also have decent articulation, which I didn’t expect for a small figurine that requires assembly. There are hinge joints for the knees and elbows, and ball-and-socket joints for the shoulders, wrists, hips, and ankles. The neck piece allows for the head to have some rotation. When assembled, these Marvel Blokees figures are definitely poseable.

Appearance and Details

I don’t expect one-to-one accuracy with the reference material, but I still expect these figurines to be close to what they are representing. Blokees Hulkbuster is definitely based on the Hulkbuster armor from Avengers: Age of Ultron.

In terms of accuracy, Blokees did another great job with the Hulkbuster. The entire model kit comes in metallic red. The head is a flat-ish dome without a neck. The face plate is in the correct shape, and the red and gold are all correct. The large shoulder covers are there and are attached to the chest piece. This becomes a problem though when you turn Hulkbuster’s arms up because the shoulder covers are in the way.

Upper body of Hulkbuster.

The chest of Blokees Hulkbuster is also relatively accurate. It has the gold panels over the shoulder blades, underneath the armpits, and the gold connectors on either side of the chest. It’s got the V-shaped components leading to the arc reactor.

The upper arm of Blokees Hulkbuster is the generic Blokees large figure piece, which is missing details. This is a minor opportunity that Blokees has solved for in Series 04 with arms that are custom molded for the character. I hate to refer to a future figurine as comparison but it’s hard to avoid, but Thor and Hulk in Series 04 have the shoulder covers attached to the arm pieces instead of the chest. This ensures that the shoulder cover would turn together with the arm.

Blokees Hulkbuster hands up

The open hands of Hulkbuster.

Blokees Hulkbuster has the gold forearm guards and large open hands. The hands are, in my opinion, this figure’s second major flaw. Hulkbuster should have come with closed fists especially since its been shown to be capable of punching. The open hands don’t really lead to good poses that you can do with this figurine.

Blokees Hulkbuster lower body.

Lower body of Hulkbuster.

Similar with the arm, Blokees Hulkbuster uses generic hip parts. There are pieces that are attached to the hips that give it’s detail, but they come off easy. I would have preferred custom molded hip parts for Hulkbuster, similar to what Hulk from Series 04 has. The legs have the similar details from the source, but is missing a little gold paint. The feet are completely in red which is inaccurate; some areas of the feet should have been painted silver or gold. These are minor errors though.

Back of Hulkbuster

Back of Hulkbuster.

The back of Blokees Hulkbuster looks relatively accurate. It has a section right in the middle of the back that’s painted gold. There are spots in this area that look like they should have been painted silver, but white decals were attached instead. The lower legs also have white decals in some spots which look like they should have been painted silver as well.

Blokees giant figures

.

Earlier, I mentioned this figure’s second major flaw. The first major flaw of Blokees Hulkbuster is it’s size. When compared to other “giant” figurines of the Infinity Saga line, Hulkbuster is glaringly shorter. I’ve seen several people complain about this. And I have to agree with anyone who says that this actually ruined the figurine.

Hulkbuster vs Hulk

Hulkbuster vs Hulk.

This flaw becomes a lot worse when you consider that the “normal” sized Infinity Saga figurines became a little taller because of the new knee joints. It’s hard to be happy with a Hulkbuster figure that is significantly shorter than Bucky Barnes or Falcon, to be honest.

Conclusion

On it’s own, Blokees Hulkbuster is a decent figurine. It gets enough details right, and all the metallic red and gold really makes the figure look good. If you’re not really collecting Blokees figures and you just want Hulkbuster, then this figure is good enough.

Hulkbuster posing

“I’m calling in Veronica.”

But if you’re a Blokees collector, Hulkbuster just falls short. What’s really disappointing is most of these figures are unlikely to have revisions later on. So this attempt is probably the only time we’ll see Blokees release Hulkbuster in the Hero-10 line. There are only two figures in Infinity Saga Series 03 that I don’t like, and Hulkbuster is one of them. I’m glad I’m not a Hulkbuster fan because this really isn’t a separate character anyway.
