Marvel Snap – My November 2024 Infinite Deck – Minus Power V2

I started playing this little mobile game called Marvel Snap since March 2023 (the Days of Future Past season) and I’ve been quite hooked since! I hit Infinite Rank by my fourth season. I’ve hit Infinite rank multiple times since then, each one with a different deck. Since Marvel Snap is a live service game that is undergoing continuous development, the competition continues to evolve. New cards get introduced in the game, and existing cards can sometimes be changed for better or for worse. As time goes by, these old decks may see significant changes. I’ve decided to write about these decks since I’m a sentimental guy and I want to capture these moments. For November 2024, Minus Power V2 got me to the finish line!

Deck Details

Infinite Deck Name: Minus Power V2

Season Used: War of the Nine Realms (November 2024)

minus power v2

Deck Description: The general idea of this deck is to use negative Power cards to make one location vulnerable to Galactus. Annihilus serves as a second win condition.

Deck Breakdown

Card List: The Hood, Selene, Daredevil, Kate Bishop, Green Goblin, Black Widow, Viper, The Sentry, Hobgoblin, Annihilus, Galactus, Alioth

Card Roles:

  1. The Hood – Negative Power card that generates Demon
  2. Selene – Further reduces Power for negative Power cards
  3. Daredevil – Empowers good Hobgoblin plays on Turn 5
  4. Kate Bishop – Generates Acid Arrow, a negative Power card that goes to the opponent’s side
  5. Green Goblin – Negative Power card that goes to the opponent’s side
  6. Black Widow – Disruption and generates a negative Power card for the opponent
  7. Viper – Sends low Power cards to the opponent
  8. The Sentry – Generates The Void, a negative Power card
  9. Hobgoblin – Negative Power card that goes to the opponent’s side
  10. Annihilus – Sends all negative Power cards to the opponent
  11. Galactus – Destroys the other two locations (including all cards played there)
  12. Alioth – Removes all abilities for opposing cards to reveal at its location

Key Card Strategies

The Herald and the Best Friend: In Marvel Snap, Galactus’ best herald is Hobgoblin. A well-placed Hobgoblin can really help Galactus plays on Turn 6 land successfully. Daredevil’s ability to reveal your opponent’s Turn 5 plays will help you pick the best location to play Hobgoblin at.

Support Ladies: Selene is great in the Minus Power V2 deck because her ability makes your Green Goblin or Hobgoblin better in their roles, and it also makes one of your opponent’s cards less useful. An Afflicted Hobgoblin is almost a guaranteed Galactus win for you. Kate Bishop is in this deck primarily for her Acid Arrow which functions similarly to the goblin cards. Her Grapple Arrow can also be very useful as it can pull away Viper from a location to keep it clear for Galactus.

Two of US: Galactus is really simple to use in this deck. If you’ve got an empty location with plenty of negative Power cards at the opponent’s side, play Galactus! Annihilus works as a support card by sending your The Void and The Hood to your opponent to clear the way for the Big G, but he also works as an alternate win condition.

Other Notes: The Hood and Sentry will need you to have Annihilus to play them with Galactus, but that means no Hobgoblin.

Deck Evolution

What’s Changed in This Deck? As of this writing, only two cards have been changed. Both Black Widow and Alioth had their Power reduced by 1.

Conclusion

Who would have thought that a Galactus deck would still be viable today? I guess a lot of current Marvel Snap players have already forgotten about the Big G, which surprised me because this strategy can be seen from far away. It worked for me so I’m not going to knock the strategy. Galactus should actually be quite viable now with the addition of Agony, Symbiote Spider-Man, and Galacta in the game.

What surprised me more is that there’s only a three-card difference between this and the Minus Power deck that got me to Infinite last January 2024. And I didn’t realize it until after I had gotten to Infinite because of how the strategy shifted from Galactus being an alternate win condition in the former, to the main win condition with this deck. This is probably not the best Galactus deck out there but I liked having Annihilus as a back up gameplan.
