I started playing this little mobile game called Marvel Snap since March 2023 (the Days of Future Past season) and I’ve been quite hooked since! I hit Infinite Rank by my fourth season. I’ve hit Infinite rank multiple times since then, each one with a different deck. Since Marvel Snap is a live service game that is undergoing continuous development, the competition continues to evolve. New cards get introduced in the game, and existing cards can sometimes be changed for better or for worse. As time goes by, these old decks may see significant changes. I’ve decided to write about these decks since I’m a sentimental guy and I want to capture these moments. For February 2024, I used the InSheNaut deck again with one very important change.
Deck Details
Infinite Deck Name: InSheNaut V2
Season Used: The Black Order (February 2024)
Card List: Sunspot, Misty Knight, Jeff, Magik, Caiera, Cyclops, Shang-Chi, High Evolutionary, Leech, She-Hulk, Hulk, The Infinaut
Win Condition: Build a power advantage in the early game by using Sunspot, Misty Knight, and Jeff. Force Turn 7 with Magik, then play She-Hulk and The Infinaut on Turn 7 by skipping Turn 6.
Card Roles:
- Sunspot – Gains 1 Power for every unspent Energy.
- Misty Knight – The evolved version randomly adds 1 Power to one of your cards in play at the end of any turn that you have unspent Energy.
- Jeff – For restricted locations.
- Magik – Location tech and creates Limbo which forces a Turn 7
- Caiera – Protection for your 1- Cost and 6- Cost cards.
- Cyclops – The evolved version gives -1 Power to two random opposing cards whenever you have unspent Energy.
- Shang-Chi – Destroys cards with 10 or more Power.
- High Evolutionary – Gives special abilities to certain cards (Misty, Cyclops, Hulk)
- Leech – Removes abilities from cards in your opponent’s hand on Turn 6.
- She Hulk – Cost is reduced by 1 for every unspent Energy the previous turn.
- Hulk – +2 Power after every turn that you have unspent Energy.
- The Infinaut – 20 Power card that can only be played if you didn’t do anything the previous turn.
Key Card Strategies
Deja Vu: The main strategy of this deck remains the same so just read my first post on InSheNaut.
She Was Made For This: InSheNaut gets Power from the 1-Cost and 6-Cost cards in the deck, and Caiera’s value is how she protects them. Unlike Cosmo and Armor, she can protect these cards even at separate locations. You lose some of the utility of Armor (anti-Destroy) and Cosmo (anti-On Reveal) but Caiera allows you to spread your Power across all three locations. Caiera is an obvious counter to Killmonger and Shang-Chi, but don’t miss out on the fact that she will let you play your 1-Cost and 6-Cost cards on locations like Death’s Domain and Altar of Death.
Ever Changing Leech: I wish I was able to grab a screenshot of the old Leech. The old Leech got rid of a lot of competition: Living Tribunal decks, Hela Discard, Destroy decks. One tactic that helped me get to Infinite with InSheNaut was to snap on Turn 5 just before playing Leech. If the opponent doesn’t retreat, the two cubes would get locked in before cards reveal. I would get immediate retreats once the opponents saw Leech.
Of Course, Them: This deck is named InSheNaut because of She-Hulk and The Infinaut so I have to talk about them, right? Play Magik before Turn 6 then don’t play anything on Turn 6. Not playing any cards on Turn 6 reduces She-Hulk’s cost to 0, allowing you to play her and The Infinaut on Turn 7. Sunspot and Misty Knight will give you benefits for that unspent energy, Caiera protects your key cards, and Leech nerfs your opponent’s win conditions.
Deck Evolution
What’s Changed in This Deck? As of this writing, the only major change to InSheNaut is to Leech. From completely nullifying all abilities in your opponent’s hand on Turn 6, he was changed several times. Now he’s a 5-Cost card with 5 Power and the On Reveal ability to remove just On Reveal abilities the moment he is played. Leech still counters a lot of cards but he was a lot more useful for this deck back then.
What’s Changed in the Meta? InSheNaut is still viable but is no longer the dominant deck. Mobius M. Mobius kills She Hulk, and Corvus Glaive really helped Hela Discard decks become more consistent. Mill decks with Baron Zemo could steal away your 1-Cost cards from you. And Red Hulk, now one of the most popular 6-Cost cards, is a direct counter against unspent Energy. Cannonball can neutralize your ability to spread Power easily too.
Conclusion
I think different versions of InSheNaut are still viable, like one that I saw with Hope Summers to help get free Energy to float. But I don’t think the exact version that I used can still get you to Infinite relatively easily. I rarely encounter InSheNaut decks nowadays, and I think that is simply due to more powerful and more consistent decks being available now.
