I started playing this little mobile game called Marvel Snap since March 2023 (the Days of Future Past season) and I’ve been quite hooked since! I hit Infinite Rank by my fourth season. I’ve hit Infinite rank multiple times since then, each one with a different deck. Since Marvel Snap is a live service game that is undergoing continuous development, the competition continues to evolve. New cards get introduced in the game, and existing cards can sometimes be changed for better or for worse. As time goes by, these old decks may see significant changes. I’ve decided to write about these decks since I’m a sentimental guy and I want to capture these moments. For April 2024, I used a deck that I’d like to refer to as Corvus Six.

The card back reward for getting to Infinite this season.
Deck Details
Infinite Deck Name: Corvus Six
Season Used: Thunderbolts (April 2024)
Deck Description: This deck wants you to discard as many cards as possible without discarding Hela. Then, play Hela on Turn 6 to put all the discarded cards into play. As a backup win condition, Corvus Glaive allows you to play two 6-Cost cards (one on Turn 5, one on Turn 6).
Deck Breakdown
Card List: Blade, Corvus Glaive, Lady Sif, Dracula, Jubilee, Black Cat, Hela, Red Hulk, Magneto, Giganto, The Infinaut, Death
Card Roles:
- Blade – Discards the right-most card in your hand.
- Corvus Glaive – Discards two cards and gives a permanent +1 to your Energy.
- Lady Sif – Discards the highest cost card in your hand.
- Dracula – At the end of the game, a card in your hand is discarded at random and this absorbs its Power.
- Jubilee – Gets another card from your deck and plays it at the same location.
- Black Cat – Discards itself at the end of the turn that this is in your hand.
- Hela – Puts all your discarded cards in play at random locations.
- Red Hulk – Discard and Dracula fodder.
- Magneto – Discard and Dracula fodder.
- Giganto – Discard and Dracula fodder.
- The Infinaut – Discard and Dracula fodder.
- Death – Discard and Dracula fodder. Also works with Lady Sif.
Key Card Strategies
Hela Good: Hela is one of the win conditions of the Discard archetype and is the primary win condition of the Corvus Six deck. She’s pretty straightforward – she brings back all the cards that were discarded from your hand. Her first main weakness is she resurrects the discarded cards at random locations so you’ll need to play around that. Hela’s second main weakness is she is vulnerable to being discarded herself. If you’re playing a Hela-based deck and Hela is discarded from your hand, you’ll probably end up losing the match.

Corvus Glaive and Hela.
Corvus Glaive: I named this deck Corvus Six because I think Corvus Glaive is the second-most important card behind Hela. What really makes Corvus vital in this deck is the +1 Max Energy that he provides, allowing you to play two 6 Cost cards back to back. That’s a great alternate win condition in case your Hela is discarded accidentally. Corvus also allows you to play Blade then Hela on Turn 6 for an extra discard/resurrection target.

Black Cat, Dracula, and Jubilee.
Fantastic 4-Costs: Corvus Six has vital 4-Cost cards. Black Cat discards herself and gets played for free by Hela. Jubilee can pull one of your many 6-Cost cards as early as Turn 4. And Dracula is here to make use of any remaining cards in your hand (hopefully a 6-Cost like Infinaut or Giganto).

Lady Sif and Death.
Other Notes: Corvus Six makes use of targeted discard effects like Blade and Lady Sif. Death ensures that Hela is protected from Lady Sif. The Infinaut and Giganto are mainly discard/Dracula fodder. Meanwhile, Red Hulk and Magneto are viable Turn 6 plays in case you don’t have Hela.
Deck Evolution
What’s Changed in This Deck? Hela was finally nerfed two seasons after I used this deck. Her version as of this writing gives a -2 Power modifier to all the cards she resurrects.
What’s Changed in the Meta? Professor X/Cannonball decks were starting to become popular this season and Blink was about to be released soon after. Before the Professor X nerf, the Professor X/Cannonball lockdown decks that became prevalent I think affected the performance of Hela decks in general. But what really impacted Hela decks is the nerf to Hela.
Conclusion
I think Corvus Six remains viable even today, despite the nerf to Hela. I still try it occasionally when I’m working on specific Daily Quests and I still manage to win at a high enough rate. But the deck is no longer as braindead as a lot of people claim it to be, thanks to the reduced overall Power output of Hela’s resurrected cards. I’m just glad I was finally able to use a Hela discard deck to get to Infinite.
