I recently purchased a Blokees Iron Man Mark VII figurine and I’d like to talk about it today!

My Blokees Iron Man Mark VII figure.
What are Blokees?
People use the word Blokees in different ways. First, Blokees is a company that produces collectible plastic model figurines. These figurines have the Blokees brand and are referred to as Blokees themselves. At the time of this writing, the most popular Blokees are the Transformers line. But Blokees has been exploring other licenses, coming up with other series like Ultraman and Pokemon. Check out the official Blokees website for more information about them.
Last October 2024, Blokees released the Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 01 line of figurines. The Blokees Iron Man Mark VII figurine that I’ll be reviewing today is part of the Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 01 line. Note that Marvel Blokees are blind boxes – you don’t know what figurine you’ll get until you open it.
Blokees Marvel General Stuff
The Blokees Marvel Infinity Saga Superhero Series 01 figurines are very similar to each other. Most of the figurines use the same parts for the chest and torso internals, arms, and legs. So, what can be said about a specific figure in terms of assembly and articulation also applies to other figurines in the same line. A Blokees Marvel figure comes disassembled inside a sealed opaque package. All the pieces are already cut and either colored or pre-painted. Even decals are already attached, so all you need to do is put the pieces together.

Having fun with my Marvel Blokees figurines.
Anyone used to Blokees figures should find assembly to be an easy task, especially since there isn’t a need to attach any decals or stickers. With a little bit of Blokees experience under my belt, it was quite easy for me to assemble Black Panther. One minor issue that I have is that it’s quite easy for a part to get dislodged, especially when posing them. But these figurines are meant for display and not for any rough play. Any part that’s dislodged during posing or handling can easily be put back again.
These Marvel Blokees figures also have decent articulation, which I didn’t expect for a small figurine that requires assembly. There are hinge joints for the knees and elbows, and ball-and-socket joints for the shoulders, wrists, hips, and ankles. The neck piece allows for the head to have some rotation. When assembled, these Marvel Blokees figures are definitely poseable.
Appearance and Details
I don’t expect one-to-one accuracy with the reference material, but I still expect these figurines to be close to what they are representing. Obviously, this figurine is based on the Mark VII Armor which was used by Iron Man in the third act of the first Avengers film.

A lot of things were done right with Blokees Iron Man Mark VII, but there were a few things that could have been done better. I love how Blokees molded the head. The face plate does look gold plated, and what’s red is actually red on the figurine. The shape of the chest does follow the source material, and he’s even got those things on his shoulder. There are even gold stripes just below the arc reactor.

Close up of Iron Man’s head and chest.
The arc reactor itself is just plain white, which is quite disappointing. Being plain white just feels lazy to me, especially after seeing what Blokees did with the arc reactors on the Series 02 figurines. At the very least, I would have wanted some light blue highlights or some linings instead of just a plain white circle. The arms were quite disappointing too. There’s just a patch of gold paint on both upper arms, which you can’t even see from the side. The torso has decals that mimic the markings of the source material, but the linings on the decals are a little bit thick. The machine-like hands and feet of Iron Man Mark VII are different from the standard Blokees figurine.

Iron Man’s lower body.
The parts that really disappointed me are the legs. Blokees Iron Man Mark VII has two red legs with decals. The yellow on these doesn’t match the gold everywhere else, so they really stick out. There are supposed to be some gold plates at the back of Iron Man’s legs. On Blokees Iron Man Mark VII, there’s just red. I expect red and gold from Iron Man, and there’s not enough gold on this figurine.

Iron Man’s back.
Iron Man’s back is actually quite accurate, but having legs that are all red just ruins it for me. What Blokees should have done is to use gold legs then apply decals for the red and silver parts. They did it for Iron Man Mark LXXXV so they could have done it with Mark VII.

Finally! Different hands!
I was surprised to see Blokees Iron Man Mark VII to have an extra pair of hands included. I’ve actually been wanting some close-fisted hands for my other Blokees Marvel figures. Instead of close fists, Iron Man Mark VII comes with hands that have palms facing forward. And there’s an energy blast piece that you can attach to any of the four hands that comes with the figurine.

Iron Man vs Hulk.
Shooting repulsors from his palms is a trademark of Iron Man, so being able to pose Blokees Iron Man Mark VII in this way was very important. Thanks to these extra hands, you’ll be able to come up with a lot more poses for this figurine.
Conclusion
There are two Iron Man versions in Marvel Infinity Saga Series 01. I thought I’d be satisfied with Mark VII since this was more common than Mark LXXXV. But when I finally had Blokees Iron Man Mark VII in my hands, I wasn’t satisfied. Like I said, I expect red and gold from an Iron Man figurine, and this one just didn’t have enough gold.

Wait! There’s more!
Is Blokees Iron Man Mark VII a bad figure? No. There’s a lot of attention to detail that was given to this figurine. It’s just that the flaws that it has, at least from my perspective, made me want something else. If you’re not as nitpicky as I am, you’ll probably be happy with this figurine. I already have the Mark LXXXV figurine and yet I’m still going to keep Mark VII in my collection.
